Area schools are taking student safety seriously. Fulton upgraded classroom doors, added secure vestibules, and upgraded their security cameras in addition to drills and shelter in place plans.
Columbia Public Schools has provided Keycard access for all Columbia Police Department officers and spent $6 million in upgrades to vestibules, cameras and other security upgrades since 2018.
The Jefferson City School District will conduct two armed intruder drills per school year.
Blair Oaks and Cole County R-V currently require that visitors must report to the principal’s office.
