Mexico Public Safety Report For 11/7/22

Mexico Public Safety handled the following calls for service from Friday through Sunday:

Friday:

  • Structure fire at Summit and Old Farm Road
  • Fire alarm in the 1400 block of West Breckenridge
  • Vehicle break in in the 1000 block of Fieldcrest
  • Stealing or theft and trespassing in the 4800 block of South Clark
  • Found property turned in at MPSD Headquarters
  • Verbal domestic in the 2500 block of Amelia

Saturday:

  • Carbon monoxide alarm in the 400 block of West Orange
  • Non-injury accident at Clark and Boulevard
  • Shoplifting in the 4800 block of South Clark

 

Sunday:

  • Child abuse or neglect reported at MPSD Headquarters
  • Fire alarm in the 100 block of South Jefferson
  • Shoplifting in the 4800 block of South Clark

Early Sunday morning, officers arrested 38-year old Robert T. Childs for third degree domestic assault.

 

Friday night, officers responded to an injury accident at East Liberty and Martin Luther King.

It happened just before 10:00 when 37-year old Ottis Vaughn of Mexico exited Express Mart and was westbound on East Liberty with fogged-up windows and struck a light pole at Martin Luther King.

A vehicle driven by 32-year old Taylor O’Connor of Mexico then ran over the pole in the roadway.

Vaughn’s passenger, 34-year old Latasha Brooks received minor injuries and was taken to an area hospital for treatment.
