The Community R-VI Trojans boys are now even on the season at 8 – 8 following Friday’s loss to New Franklin.

According to coach Tad Shotten, the Trojans played hard but New Franklin plays deep and with a style that fits their personnel and depth and that depth is what beat the Trojans.

The Trojans were led by Gavin Allen with 20, Mason Carroll with a dozen and Brant Cope with 5 points.

The final was 77 – 44.

Mexico Lady Bulldog wrestlers are hosting the Brick City Girls Dual Tournament today at MHS.

Action gets underway at 9:30 this morning and seniors will be honored before the last round.

Seniors being honored are Ali Walotka, Kaylynn Pehle, and Choice Foster.

It was a wild Wild Card Weekend in the NFL.

The Chargers blew a 27 – 0 lead over Jacksonville to lose 31 – 30 and the 49ers handled Seattle 41 – 23 on Saturday.

Yesterday, a back and forth battle between the Bills and Dolphins saw the Bills come out on top, 34 – 31, the Giants beat the Vikings 31 – 24 and the Bengals picked up a 24 – 17 win over the Ravens.

Tonight’s final wild card game gets underway at 7:15 with the Cowboys and Buccaneers matchup.

Divisional rounds start this weekend with the Chiefs taking on Jacksonville at Arrowhead, kick off is at 3:30 while the Eagles take on the Giants in the NFC in Philly, kick off set for 7:15.

Number 20 Mizzou fell to Florida on the road Saturday, thanks to a second-half run by Florida.

The final in Gainesville: 73 – 64, dropping Mizzou to 13 – 3 and 2 – 3 in SEC play.

The Tigers are back home Wednesday night facing #15 Arkansas at 8:00.

University of Georgia is mourning the loss of football player Devin Willock and football staffer Chandler McCroy who were killed in a car crash early yesterday morning, just hours after celebrating their national championship win with a victory parade and celebration in Athens, Georgia.

Two other players in the vehicle were injured and are in stable condition according to the University.
