The Mexico Bulldogs put an end to the North Callaway Thunderbirds win streak in high school baseball last (Monday) night with a 9-2 victory.

North Callaway was riding a 4-game win-streak coming into the game.

Mexico’s Jack Wilburn was dominant tossing a 2 run complete game.

Mexico offense came alive in the fourth inning which led to six runs.

Andrew Runge had 3 RBI, Jack Wilburn helped his cause with 2 RBI.

The Bulldogs are back at it tonight (Tuesday) when they face conference rival Marshall with a 5pm start time.

The Mexico High Boys Tennis Team competed against the Capital City last (Monday) night.

Mexico went 1-8 overall. Brendan McKeown picked up a varsity singles victory for the Bulldogs winning his match 9-7.

Mexico Head Coach Tony Senor says “Capital City is a good team from top to bottom. Playing a team that is better than you will help when we get closer to Districts. Brendan McKeown was mental tough by winning 9-7 against Capital City’s #1 Ethan McNutt. Brixton Goerne also played Varsity at the #6 spot and he lost a close match. We also got to play with AD, which will help us when we get to District format.” Next match is 04/11 against Boonville at Home at 4:30 PM.

The St. Louis Cardinals lost 7-4 to the Colorado Rockies last (Monday) night. Redbirds rookie Jordan Walker extended his hitting streak to ten to open up his major league career.

The Kansas City Royals were defeated 11-2 by the Texas Rangers. Royals manager Matt Quatraro returned to the dugout after missing the previous five games with COVID.
