A tradition started ten years ago by Mexico High School head football coach Steve Haag continued Thursday, September 22,2023.
The Bulldogs football players showed their appreciation for teachers by inviting them to a dinner at the Mexico High School High School cafeteria.
Mexico head coach Steve Haag says “It is an honor for your players to host a teacher(s) who have impacted their lives in some way. We as coaches only get to spend a small amount of time with our players compared to the time these teachers spend supporting them in their academic career. We have some of the best teachers in the business in the Mexico School District, and there is not enough money and praise to go around for the time each teacher gives to the students of our community. We just hope this small gesture shows that the football team and the community notices their hard work and dedication.”
