The Mexico Lady Bulldogs claimed their ninth consecutive victory on Saturday with a 12-10 win over Palmyra.
The Lady Bulldogs did it in walk-off fashion.
Mexico was down 10-9 in the bottom of the seventh inning when Jo Thurman homered to left field, scoring three runs.
Mexico collected 14 hits. Mexico’s Kenley Jones hit her first ever over-the-fence home run in the fourth inning.
Keerstan Ewing earned the win for the Lady Bulldogs.
Emma Cunningham was the starting pitcher and struck out one over three innings.
Aleigha Henderson appeared in relief for Mexico as well.
Brooke Teel stole four bases in the game and in doing so set a record for the Mexico High School for most stolen bases in a season.
Teel now has 28 stolen bases already this season.
The record was previously held by Lexie Willer who held the record with 27 stolen bases in a single-season on October, 20, 2020.
The Lady Bulldogs improved their record to 15-9.
