Two horses are dead and one person is recovering from injuries following an accident on U.S. Highway 63 near Sturgeon yesterday (Friday) afternoon.
According to a report from KMIZ 17, the Boone County Fire Protection District said a tractor trailer rear ended the back of a horse trailer and was stuck.
The driver of the tractor trailer 23-year-old Eric L. Anderson of Sturgeon was taken to University Hospital with moderate injuries and the driver of the horse trailer refused treatment at the scene according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol accident report.
Boone County Joint Communications reported the crash just before 3:30 yesterday (Friday) afternoon.
Both southbound lanes were closed for about 30 minutes. Both lanes reported by 5pm.
