Mexico Public Safety reports finding two runaway juveniles and a stolen car from Nebraska on Saturday, October 14, 2023.
According to the press release Mexico Public Safety Department received information that a runaway juvenile from Nebraska was possibly in Mexico.
Responding officers stopped a vehicle in the 500 block of West Jackson on Saturday morning and found four people inside.
One was 18-year-old Carson Ganaway from Marceline.
There was also a 17-year-old boy from Mexico, a 16-year-old girl and 17-year-old girl from Nebraska in the vehicle.
Further investigation revealed that both the teens from Nebraska had been reported as runaways, and the the vehicle was reported stolen from Nebraska, and the group had been involved in a disturbance in the 4800 block of South Clark earlier in the day.
The 12th Circuit Court-Juvenile Division responded to assist with the investigation and eventually took custody of the Nebraska juveniles.
The investigation is ongoing.
