First Day Filers Announced For Seats On Mexico School Board And Mexico City Council For April 2024 Ballot

One person filed for an open seat on the Mexico City Council and three people filed for open seats on the Mexico board of Education as candidate filing opened today (Tuesday) for the April 2024 ballot.

The Mexico City Clerk announced Vicki Briggs filed this (Tuesday) morning and will be seeking re-election for another term.

In Mexico there will be two seats up for grabs on the City Council.

They include expiring terms currently held by Mexico Mayor Vicki Briggs and councilman Chris Miller.

The Mexico School Board Secretary announced the filing Michelle Stephens and Jennifer Gore for a three-year term on the Mexico Board of Education.

And Lennette Brown filed for the one open seat for a two-year term.

Three seats will be on the ballot for the Mexico Board of Education.

Seats that will be up for election include three-year terms currently held by Keith Louder and Michelle Stephens.

And a 2-year-term held by Lennette Brown.

Candidates must select which term they will run for at the time of filing.

Filing ends on December 26, 2023.
