Stolen Car From Columbia Found At Mexico Residence

An investigation is ongoing in Mexico after a stolen car was found at a home in Mexico during the early morning hours of Thursday, December 21.2023.

According to Mexico Public Safety they responded to a business just before 7am on Thursday in reference to someone who had just stolen some alcohol.

Shortly after 7am, officers say the located the suspect vehicle at a home around the 700 block of North Western Street.

No adult family members were at the home but some juvenile family members were.

Also in the home were two 20-year-old men from Columbia, and a 17-year-old boy and 15-year-old boy from Mexico.

An investigation revealed that the car had been reported stolen in Columbia in August.

Everyone was taken to the Mexico Public Safety Department and eventually released to family members.

The investigation is ongoing to determine what charges will be forwarded to the Audrain County Prosecutor or the Juvenile Office.
