Columbia Man Dies In Pedestrian/Vehicle Collision

An investigation is underway in Columbia after a vehicle-pedestrian collision in Columbia on Saturday, December 30, 2023.

According to Columbia Police they responded in the area of East Broadway near North First Street.

First responders arrived on scene and immediately provided medical assistance to an adult male victim, who was identified as 55-year-old Brady L. Ewing of Columbia.

Ewing succumbed to his wounds and was declared deceased at the scene.

Investigators say that a 2019 Honda Civic was traveling westbound on East Broadway just west on North First Street as Mr. Ewing was walking eastbound in the turn lane.

Police say Ewing apparently walked into the passing lane of westbound traffic and was hit by the Civic.
