The Missouri Tigers softball team secured a walk off 2-1 victory over LSU yesterday (Friday) and punched their ticket to the SEC Tournament Championship.
Maddie Gallagher knocked a walk-off sacrifice fly in the eighth inning to propel 5th seeded Mizzou to the championship game.
With the scored tied at 1, Mizzou posted consecutive singles to commence the eighth inning and set the table for Gallagher’s heroics. Mizzou will face 2nd seeded Florida in the SEC Championship Game on Saturday afternoon.
First pitch is at 4pm.
The Kansas City Royals defeated the Anaheim Angels 2-1 on the road.
The Royals rallied for a comeback and have tallied nine comeback victories on the year and improved to eight games over .500 for the first time since June 1, 2016.
The St. Louis Cardinals lost 11-2 to the Milwaukee Brewers on Friday, May 10, 2024. The Cardinals were outhit 12 to 5. Nolan Gorman hit a homerun and it was his birthday. St. Louis has now lost six games in a row.
