A Vandalia man is recovering from serious injuries after a one-car accident in Pike County during the evening hours of Wednesday, July 3, 2024.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol accident report it happened on Route V near Pike County Road 459.
A vehicle driven by 38-year-old Troy L. Richardson of Vandalia was traveling westbound, when a deer entered the roadway from an unknown direction and traveled into the path of the vehicle.
The front of the vehicle hit the deer, and after striking the deer the vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway.
Richardson was taken to Pike County Memorial Hospital for treatment.
