Audrain Regional Medical Board Officially Becomes Non-Profit Organization And Will Support Boone Health Efforts To Reopen Hospital In Mexico

A group of local physicians and community members known as the Audrain Regional Medical Board has been granted 501C3 certification.

The new non-profit organization was formed in October, 2023 and with the hopes of getting a hospital reopened in Mexico.

Boone Health has expressed interest in opening a Critical Access Hospital in Mexico and signed a non-disclosure agreement with Audrain County officials.

Boone Health CEO Brady Dubois has said Boone Health is interested in building a new facility and has no interest in the old hospital building.

The Audrain Regional Medical Board met on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, and has decided to send a letter of support to Boone Health saying the board is in full support of Boone Health opening a Critical Access Hospital in Mexico, while continuing to address health care shortages and support anything that can be done in the interim.

ZivaMed the current owners of former hospital buildings in Mexico have been involved in bankruptcy proceedings.

Foreclosure proceedings on the hospital building in Mexico are set to take place on July 25, 2024, at the Audrain County Courthouse steps.
