The public is being invited to the Mexico High School to a home run derby and midnight football scrimmage on Friday, August 16, 2024.
Mexico softball girls go against the Mexico football boys in the home run derby starting at 10pm at Gallop Field.
Competing for Mexico Softball are Kenley Jones, Matty Tolbert, Tayla Bruns, Kaylee Fish, Maddy Feger, Landri Teel, and Payton Shaw.
Representing Mexico Football are Daunte Cline, Hunter Cuno, Greyden Sewell, Drew Demint, Kaden Benne, Tyson Carr, and Peyton Hoover
Then at midnight the football scrimmage takes place at Hawthorne Heights.
Two St. Louis natives and champions will throw out the first pitch at the St. Louis Cardinals game on Sunday, August 18, 2024.
Boston Celtics Jayson Tatum and Florida Panthers Matthew Tkachuk will throw out honorary first pitches at Busch Stadium before the Cardinals face the Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday.
Tatum won the NBA Championship with the Boston Celtics and Tkachuk won the Stanley Cup with the Panthers this year.
Both are St. Louis natives and former high school classmates at Chaminade.
