More Charges Filed After Shooting In Kingdom City

The following is a press release from the Callaway County Sheriff’s Office.

On September 4, 2024 the Callaway County Prosecutor’s Office formally charged 36 year old Joseph Wyatt of Auxvasse for Trafficking Drugs 1st Degree along with 33 year old Sandra Wielgorecki of Mexico, Missouri for Endangering the Welfare of a Child 1st Degree.

These charges stem from the robbery/shooting that the Sheriff’s Office investigation on August 31 that left one female hospitalized with serious injuries.

During the robbery/shooting Wielgorecki and Freeman’s two year old child was present, thus the charge of Endangering the Welfare of a Child 1st Degree.

Further information can be gathered on Case Net. —- On August 31, 2024, at approximately 1:47 AM, Callaway County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a reported shooting on US Highway 54 near County Road 240 in Kingdom City.

Callaway County Joint Communications received a 911 call reporting that two people had been shot.

Deputies identified one victim as a 20-year-old female from Mexico, Missouri.

The second injured person was identified as Kibby Freeman, 42, of Mexico, Missouri. Following a lengthy investigation, it was determined that the incident was a targeted robbery involving a controlled substance (fentanyl).

During the robbery, a shotgun was discharged, striking Freeman and the female victim.

Upon Freeman’s release from the hospital deputies subsequently arrested him for his involvement in the robbery. Later in the day, the Callaway County Prosecutor’s Office filed formal charges against Freeman.

A Callaway County Judge ordered Freeman to be held without bond.

The charges against Freeman include: Robbery – 1st Degree Assault – 1st Degree or Attempt (Serious Physical Injury or Special Victim) Assault – 2nd Degree (Two Counts) Endangering the Welfare of a Child – 1st Degree (Creating Substantial Risk, 1st Offense, No Sexual Conduct) Armed Criminal Action Unlawful Use of a Weapon – Subsection 9 (Shooting At/From a Motor Vehicle, At Person, Motor Vehicle, or Building, Resulting in Death or Injury) Stealing – Firearm/Explosive Weapon/Ammonium Nitrate Unlawful Possession of a Firearm Tampering with Physical Evidence in a Felony Prosecution.

The female remains hospitalized in serious condition.

The shotgun has been recovered and there is no threat to the community.
