A Jefferson City man and woman suffered serious injuries following a motorcycle crash in Cole County during the evening hours of Friday, September 27, 2024.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report it happened on Highway 50, .5 miles west of Route D. 60-year-old David Rapier was driving the motorcycle with passenger 45-year-old Jill Pittman, west on Highway 50 when the rear tire blew out, causing Rapier to lose control of the bike.
The bike overturned and both Rapier and Pittman were thrown from the motorcycle.
Rapier was flown to University Hospital for treatment and Pittman was taken to University Hospital by Cole County EMS.
The report says they were not wearing helmets.
