Bridge Painting Project Scheduled on U.S. 54 in Audrain County

The following news release was sent from the Missouri Department of Transportation.

Weather permitting, as early as week of October 7, a bridge painting project will begin on U.S. Route 54, over West Fork Cuivre River in Audrain County.

Motorists can expect delays as traffic will be reduced to one lane with a 12-foot width restriction in place where crews are actively working.

Temporary signals will be in place and utilized to direct traffic through the work zone.

All work is weather dependent and schedules are subject to change.

Signs and message boards will be in place to alert motorists, as schedule changes occur.

Also included in this contract is the painting of two bridges located in Ralls County on northbound U.S. Route 61, over Norfolk Southern Railroad and over Bear Creek near Hannibal, which are anticipated to start in mid-October.

Omega Coatings & Construction, LLC was awarded the contract this spring in the amount of $431,430.80. All work is scheduled to be completed by November 1, 2024.
