Callaway County Corporal Justin Bax Released From Hospital After Being Shot During Traffic Stop
One of the Callaway County Sheriff’s Office Deputies who was injured following a traffic stop that ended with gunfire exchange on Monday morning was released from the hospital yesterday (Wednesday) afternoon.
Callaway County Corporal Justin Bax was released from University Hospital yesterday (Wednesday) where he was greeted by family, friends and first responders as he got into the car that took him back to Callaway County.
The Callaway County Sheriff’s Office said Bax and Deputy Gardner Pottorf were hospitalized with gunshots on Monday morning during a the traffic stop on I-70, and 37-year-old Jonathan Beason was killed during the reported exchange of gunfire.
According to the sheriff’s office Bax underwent surgery to his right arm, but is expected to make a full recovery.
Pottorf remains at University Hospital recovering, but is doing well according to the sheriff’s office.
