Boone Health Becomes State Leader In High-Tech Surgical Systems

The following press release was sent out from Boone Health.

Boone Health officials are excited to announce the arrival of two da Vinci 5 (DV5) robotic surgical systems.

The robots are the first of their kind in Missouri, following the approval of a Certificate of Need (CON) from the state.

This investment underscores Boone Health’s commitment to providing the best high-quality and cutting-edge care to patients across its 26-county service area.

“This is a transformative moment for Boone Health and our community,” said Brady Dubois, president and CEO of Boone Health.

“The addition of the Da Vinci 5 systems to our hospital allows us to offer our patients the safest, most advanced surgical options available today.

Our team is eager to begin using this cutting-edge technology to continue providing the highest standard of care.”

The Da Vinci 5 systems, which arrived on Oct. 7 and were used in their first surgery on Oct. 14, represent the latest in robotic-assisted surgery, offering enhanced precision, visualization, and safety for a wide range of surgical procedures.

Boone Health’s medical teams began specialized training immediately after the systems were delivered to ensure seamless integration into the hospital’s surgical program.

The acquisition of the DV5 systems was made possible through the state’s CON process.

Missouri requires healthcare facilities to obtain CON approval for projects exceeding $1 million, ensuring the efficient use of resources while maintaining high-quality healthcare services.
