Man Accused Of Firing Shots Outside Of Vandalia Apartment Complex
A man is in the Audrain County Jail facing several charges after an arrest where he is accused of firing off shots outside of a Vandalia apartment complex during the evening hours of Wednesday, November 20, 2024.
Audrain County Sheriff’s Office and the Missouri Highway Patrol responded to a residential apartment complex in Vandalia just before 9 on Wednesday night on the report of multiple shots being fired in the area.
Upon arrival, responding deputies found expended shell casings on the ground outside the apartment complex.
Witness interviews led to deputies to contact 33-year-old Dakota Reed, who resided at the apartment complex.
According to the Audrain County Sheriff’s Office, Reed was found to match the description of the suspect whom reportedly discharged the firearm.
During the investigation, Sheriff’s Deputies obtained and executed a search warrant at Reed’s apartment and during the search, deputies say they found a handgun, ammunition, methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia.
Reed was arrested and taken to the Audrain County Jail.
