Montgomery Residents Rally Against Proposed Mega Data Center Site

Hundreds of Montgomery County residents packed the high school gym Last Night (Thursday) to oppose a proposed mega-site for two data centers, potentially covering 5,000 acres for Amazon and Google.

The rally, led by Preserve Montgomery County, featured more than 25 speakers including farmers groups and local lawyers warning about risks to drinking water and rising utilities.

Residents questioned county leaders’ transparency,

Tammy Ridgeley urged continued resistance, stressing concerns over unknowns rather than the centers themselves.

County Commissioner Ryan Poston attended the event as the group announced a Feb. 5 meeting at the public library to push back on the project.
