Three men charged with forgery and stealing in Audrain County were charged with four counts of Forgery in Cole County.
Durrail J. Williams, Anthony Williams, and Tavion D. Young have been charged after being accused of buying items at several Jefferson City businesses with fake $100 bills.
On November 21st, Audrain County prosecutors charged the three men with Forgery and Stealing.
According to reporting from KRCG 13 News, Mexico Public Safety officers were called to Walmart on October 24, 2024.
The loss prevention officer said she had heard of people passing counterfeit bills at other Walmart locations.
When checking transactions, she said on October 22nd, the three men made small purchases, paid with the fake money, and got a lot of real change back.
The employee then said that two of the three $100 had the same serial numbers.
The three men are being held in the Cole County Jail.
