A Wellsville man is in the Callaway County Jail after an arrest where he is accused of sexually assaulting a teenager two years ago in Holts Summit.
According to court documents 22-year-old Timothy Blaine Cross was charged with two counts of fourth-degree child molestation on Wednesday, November 27, 2024.
According to the probable cause statement, a teenager reported to authorities in Franklin County that they were sexually assaulted by a man in 2022 in Holts Summit.
The youth stated they repeatedly told Cross no until eventually agreeing.
The victim was able to identify Cross in a photo lineup provided by law enforcement.
According to reporting from ABC 17 News, Cross spoke with authorities at Mexico Public Safety on Tuesday and allegedly stated the incident happened at a party at a Holts Summit residence and claimed to be under the influence of drugs while it happened.
A court date has not been set.
