Two Moberly Residents And A Centralia Man Dead Following Vehicle Crashes In Columbia

Three people are dead following a series of crashes on U.S. 63 north of Columbia during the afternoon hours of Thursday, January 23, 2025.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol accident report, a head-on crash near Pinnacles Road, on southbound U.S. 63 killed a 32-year-old Centralia man driving one vehicle.

The driver of the other vehicle a 55-year-old Moberly man was taken to University Hospital and was later pronounced deceased.

A second crash happened about an hour later with the stopped traffic caused by the first crash near Breedlove Drive.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol a 39-year-old Moberly woman was killed in the second crash, and four people were taken to University Hospital with minor to moderate injuries.

The crashes closed all southbound lanes of U.S. 63 for hours.

Lanes gradually opened as crews cleared the scene.
