Minor fire damage is being reported to several garages following a fire in Mexico during the afternoon hours of Monday, Mar. 24, 2025.
Mexico Public Safety responded to the 1400 block of South Coal just before 4pm and found grass and leaves burning along a property line between two city lots.
According to the news release the fire had reached unattached garages on each property, and was contained and extinguished with each garage having minor fire damage.
Mexico Public Safety says an investigation indicated the fire was caused by juveniles playing with a lighter.
An investigation is continuing.
There were no injuries from the incident.
