Mexico High School Baseball Defeats State Ranked Southern Boone And Shuts Out Owensville At Southern Boone Invitational

Mexico High School baseball went 2-0 at the Southern Boone Invitational in Ashland on Saturday, Mar. 29, 2025.

In game one of the day Mexico took down state ranked Southern Boone.

The Bulldogs defeated the 9th ranked team in Class 4 by a score of 12-6.

Mexico’s offense started cooking in the fourth inning with four singles.

Drew DeMint earned three hits in five at bats.

Chance McCarty, Austin Maxwell, Landon Hilderman, and Cooper Bledsoe each drove in two runs for the Bulldogs.

Jaydon Eldridge, Sam Ryan and Brayden Arnold each collected multiple hits for Mexico.

Arnold stole two bases and the Bulldogs stole four bases as a team.

The Bulldogs defense was sharp as well, turning three double plays in the game.

Mexico collected 18 hits in total in the game.

Bulldogs starting pitcher Brady Fox notched the win for his team by striking out three batter in five innings of work.

In game two of the Southern Boone Invitational, Mexico shut out the Owensville Dutchmen 9-0.

Jaydon Eldridge started the scoring in the first inning, with a single that scored a run.

The scoring continued in the third inning when Brady Fox singled to center and Jaydon Eldridge hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring a run.

Mexico collected nine hits in the game.

Chance McCarty and Brayden Arnold each stole multiple bases for the Bulldogs.

Kaden Benne earned the victory for Mexico allowing no runs and striking out four batters in six innings of work.

Cooper Rowe collected the save. Mexico improved their record to 7-1 on the season.
