Columbia house fire is fatal
One person has died after a house fire in Columbia early Monday morning.
According to Fire Department Captain Wayne Cummins, the fire took place on Derby Ridge Drive at 1:42 a.m.
Cummins says that firefighters arrived on scene to find heavy flames from the front of the home, and while battling the blaze, found two adult victims.
Both were taken to University Hospital, and Columbia Police confirmed that a man had died in the incident.
The fire was out just after 2 a.m. No firefighters were injured.
