Thorp arrested for drug trafficking

A 44-year-old Vandalia man was arrested yesterday after a deputy stopped a car on Highway 54 near Mexico. Joey Thorp was driving on a suspended license.

Deputies then searched the car and found a large amount of methamphetamine during the traffic stop. 60 grams of meth to be exact, all packaged up, ready for sale.

Thorp is in the Audrain County Jail on a no-bond warrant. He is charged with felony 1st Degree Drug Trafficking and misdemeanor Driving while Suspended.
