Insurance Price hikes expected in 2026

Missourians could see steep hikes in health insurance costs next year. Nearly all providers in the state plan to raise monthly rates for 2026, some by as much as 30 percent, according to the Missouri Department of Commerce and Insurance.

The increases come as federal budget talks stall in Washington, where a 40-day government shutdown continues over expiring Affordable Care Act tax credits. Those subsidies help more than 24 million Americans—417,000 in Missouri alone—afford coverage.
