Winter Weather Update Saturday Morning

A major winter storm is moving through the region this weekend, bringing two rounds of snow.

The first wave is winding down this evening with lighter totals, while a stronger second wave arrives late tonight through Sunday afternoon bringing heavy snow, especially across southeast Missouri, southwest Illinois, and the St. Louis metro area.

A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect for those areas, with several inches expected by Sunday night.

Bitterly cold air continues through at least Monday morning, with wind chills near or below zero.
