MU basketball with a pair of weekend wins

Mizzou men’s basketball was a favorite going into Saturday’s matchup with Oklahoma at Mizzou arena. But, the game was anything but easy for the Tigers. It took a 40-foot shot at the end of regulation from Trent Pierce to force Missouri into overtime. Then another long heave by Mark Mitchell to win the game in overtime, 88-87.

Mitchell led the team with 25 points. TO Barrett added 21 and Jaden Stone knocked in 20.

The Texas A&M Lady Aggies had a furious fourth quarter comeback last night at Mizzou arena, outscoring MU 30-22 in the final frame, but it wasn’t enough as the Lady Tigers held on for the 81-70 win. MU’s Grace Slaughter led all scorers with 22 points. Senior guard Jayla Smith hit for a 15-point performance, while senior forward Jordana Reisma and junior guard Abbey Schreacke both had 10 points apiece.
