No Injuries in Garage Fire south of Columbia

Cold weather continues to be an issue for mid-Missouri fire crews. Boone County firefighters responded to a residential structure fire yesterday (Wednesday) afternoon on S. Hill Creek Road just south of Columbia.

The call came in just before 4:45 p.m. and firefighters found significant fire and smoke coming from the garage of the two-story residence.

According to a Facebook post from the Fire District, the homeowner called 911 after coming home and seeing smoke. He then safely retrieved his pets.

Fire personnel limited the fire to the garage. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
