Montgomery City Man Arrested in Cole County on Multiple Child Sex Abuse Charges
A Montgomery City man, 40-year-old Joshua D. Stone, has been arrested in Cole County on multiple charges related to alleged sexual abuse of two children under 12.
Court documents list two counts of first-degree statutory rape, two counts of statutory sodomy, two counts of first-degree child molestation, two counts of incest, and one count of enticement of a child.
Investigators say the Cole County Sheriff’s Office assisted a state agency in the probe into child sexual abuse allegations against Stone, with one child describing years of similar incidents.
Stone allegedly denied the accusations and attempted to redirect questions, and authorities allege he also made threats against the children and their families.
He’s being held without bond, with an arraignment scheduled for 10:30 a.m. This morning (Friday).
