A Rolla man previously convicted of livestock theft is facing new charges for allegedly stealing cattle again.
Court records show 51-year-old Melvin J. Fincher was charged Wednesday with stealing livestock valued at more than ten thousand dollars. Investigators say Fincher took 12 cattle from a seller he met on Facebook last June, paying with a forty-eight-thousand-dollar check that later bounced.
He’s accused of showing false bank documents claiming a seventy-five-thousand-dollar line of credit.
Fincher pleaded guilty last year in a separate case involving 42 stolen cows from a Texas livestock market and is currently serving five years of supervised probation.
