New safety signs are now up at the Katy Trail crossing on County Road 391 in Callaway County, more than six months after a 9-year-old boy was fatally struck while biking at the site.
The trail meets the road at a 45 degree angle, making it difficult for drivers and cyclists to see each other.
Crews recently installed new signs marking a 20-mile-per-hour speed limit and warning drivers about the trail crossing.
County officials say nine crossings have been updated so far, with the rest expected by the end of February.
