A South Carolina man has been indicted for a Boone County cold case murder dating back to the year 2000.
Forty-five-year-old Sentrell Wilson is charged with first-degree murder in the death of 22-year-old University of Missouri student Candice Richie.
She was found dead in Columbia more than two decades ago.
Investigators say Wilson, who was Richie’s boyfriend at the time, was always a suspect but wasn’t charged due to concerns over autopsy wording.
A renewed investigation in 2025 led to his arrest in Spartanburg County, South Carolina.
Wilson remains held without bond and will be extradited to Missouri to face charges
