An inmate who spent more than three decades at the Jefferson City Correctional Center has died.
The Missouri Department of Corrections says 74-year-old Gary Jackman was pronounced dead Monday night at Capital Region Medical Center from apparent natural causes.
Jackman had been incarcerated since October 1990 and was serving a life sentence for convictions including first-degree robbery, multiple counts of forcible rape, and sodomy in Clay and Jackson counties.
He had been housed at the Jefferson City facility for 36 years.
