10 month I-70 Closure starts Monday

A 10-month closure on North Outer Road 70 at the Boone-Callaway line begins mid-March, MoDOT says.

Crews will replace two bridges on Interstate 70 over Cedar Creek, starting March 9.

First, the westbound bridge will be replaced, with westbound I-70 traffic diverted onto the north outer road.

Next, the eastbound bridge will be replaced, shifting eastbound traffic onto the newly rebuilt westbound bridge.

Officials expect completion in January 2027.

There will be no signed detour, but motorists will see signs guiding them to alternate routes.

The project is part of MoDOT’s Improve I-70: Columbia to Kingdom City effort.
