Columbia Man Arrested After 70+ MPH Police Chase and Crash

A Columbia man is behind bars after leading deputies on a high-speed chase across the city Wednesday.
Court documents say 29-year-old Dejon Woltkamp-Linzie took off when a Boone County deputy tried to make a traffic stop near Lasalle Place and West Worley Street.
Deputies say the chase reached speeds over 70 miles an hour through several intersections before Woltkamp-Linzie’s car crashed into two power poles on Wilkes Boulevard.
He then ran from the scene but was taken into custody a short distance away.
Woltkamp-Linzie faces multiple charges, including aggravated fleeing, armed criminal action, and second-degree kidnapping.
He’s being held without bond at the Boone County Jail.
