Columbia Man Faces Prison After Buffalo Wild Wings Shooting
A Boone County jury has recommended prison time for a man convicted in a 2024 shooting at Buffalo Wild Wings in Columbia.
Thirty-eight-year-old Alexis Gonzalez was found guilty Wednesday of second-degree assault and armed criminal action after shooting Gary Bitsicas in the face.
On Thursday, jurors recommended Gonzalez serve seven years for assault and eight years for the weapons charge.
During sentencing arguments, the defense asked for leniency, describing Gonzalez as a veteran and father who made a mistake, while prosecutors called the shooting a deliberate act that caused lasting harm.
A judge will decide his final sentence on May 4
