Columbia Man Indicted in Crypto Investment Fraud Case

A Columbia man has been indicted for allegedly running a cryptocurrency investment scheme.
A Boone County grand jury charged 42-year-old Charles Burri with financial exploitation of an elder and five counts of stealing.
Investigators say Burri, who owns Burri Asset Management, promised a 71-year-old woman returns on a $15,000 crypto investment but never paid her back.
Police say four more victims have come forward since his arrest, and Iowa authorities are also investigating possible connections in the Des Moines area.
Burri turned himself in to Boone County authorities in January.
