Columbia Chemical Spill

An area of Columbia is back open after being shut down due to a reported chemical spill.

The Columbia Fire Department responded to University Avenue between Ninth and Hitt Street last (Thursday) night.

The chemical spill was apparently employees at the Domino’s in the 400 Block of Ninth Street spraying oven jell on oven racks outside the store and used a portable sprayer to power wash the racks.

A concerned citizen called the firefighters after watching the employees spraying the racks.
