Mexico woman seriously hurt in Business 54 crash

A Mexico woman was seriously hurt Tuesday night after a crash on Business 54.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says it happened around 7:25 p.m., east of Spire Lane, when a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe went off the right side of the road.

The SUV then hit a curb, a John Deere lawn tractor, a MoDOT sign, and then a building.

Troopers say the 33-year-old driver from Mexico was not wearing a seat belt and was taken by Audrain County EMS to University Hospital in Columbia.

The vehicle was totaled and towed from the scene.
