Tennessee Man Seriously Hurt in I-70 Construction Zone Crash

A 78-year-old man from Tennessee was seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash Monday afternoon on I-70.

The Highway Patrol says it happened Monday afternoon near the 136.6 mile marker in a construction zone when his Subaru Outback failed to negotiate a curve, went off the left side of the road, and hit a guardrail before striking a concrete barrier.

Debris from the Subaru hit a Volkswagen Atlas, which continued from the scene.

The Tennessee driver was taken by ambulance to the University Hospital with serious injuries.

The Volkswagen’s driver suffered minor injuries.
