A former Boonville nonprofit director has admitted to stealing tens of thousands of dollars from the organization she once led.
Cooper County prosecutors say 49-year-old Jennifer Waibel, former executive director of Unlimited Opportunities Inc., pleaded guilty Monday to stealing $25,000 or more.
Court documents show she used the group’s credit card for personal purchases in 2023, leading to her firing that September.
Waibel will be sentenced May 22.
She also faces separate Boone County charges for allegedly using another employer’s cards to buy more than $13,000 in gift cards last year, with a hearing set for May 4.
