A heads up for drivers in mid-Missouri: starting April 23, the U.S. 54 ramp onto westbound I-70 will be closed as part of a traffic shift.
MoDOT says eastbound U.S. 54 traffic will move onto a newly built bridge, while westbound lanes will shift onto the current eastbound side.
The eastbound I-70 exit to U.S. 54 will also be limited to right turns only, with no direct access to eastbound 54.
The changes are part of the Improve I-70 project, which will add a third lane between Columbia and Kingdom City.
