A key matchup in the NCMC was rained out last night as Mexico was scheduled to host Moberly baseball, but it was rained out. No word yet on if they will make it up.

in College Softball
The University of Missouri softball program needed a win yesterday in the opening round of the SEC Tournament to secure an NCAA Championship tournament bid.
Unfortunately, Larissa Anderson’s ballclub couldn’t hold on, as MU pitching faltered late, giving up 4 runs in the 6th and 2 more in the seventh, losing to Auburn, 6-2.
The Tigers fall to 28-29 on the season and with the loss, will are now done for the season and will once again miss the NCAA Tournament.

in College Football
Missouri freshman linebacker JJ Bush has been indefinitely suspended from the team after he was arrested Monday night on a Class D felony charge of aggravated fleeing a stop or detention of a motor vehicle and a Class B misdemeanor charge of careless and imprudent driving.
According to a probable cause statement Bush was observed just before 10pm, traveling at “approximately 80-90 mph” while westbound on East Broadway. The posted speed limit is 40 mph.

in the NHL
The NHL Draft Lottery was last night. It was unhelpful to the St. Louis Blues. They did not move up in draft order, for any of their current three first-round picks in the 2026 NHL Draft.

They possess Nos. 11 (their own) and 15 (from the Detroit Red Wings), and an as yet unknown pick they got from the New York Islanders in the Brayden Schenn trade. That pick originally belonged to the Colorado Avalanche, so it will slot where the Avs finish the year.

IN MLB
Kansas City won for the 9th time in their last 11 games, with a 5-3 win over Cleveland last night.
Michael Massey’s two-run go-ahead home run was the difference and Isaac Collins solo shot provided a little insurance.
Stephen Kolek got the win in his first appearance of the year for KC.

Meanwhile, the only thing to slow down the St. Louis Cardinals is the weather. Last night’s game against the Milwaukee Brewers at Busch Stadium was been postponed due to inclement weather. The two teams will make the game on Tuesday, July 7, at 1:15 PM at Busch Stadium as part of a split doubleheader before the originally scheduled 6:45 PM game.

Thomas Sagesse’s return to Triple A Memphis was short-lived. A day after he was sent down, he was recalled to take the place of 31-year old third baseman Ramon Urias.

Urias has dealt with tennis elbow since spring training and it has finally reached a point that required the Cardinals infielder to be put on the disabled list yesterday.

Urias was moved to the 10-day injured list but Cards manager Oli Marmol suggested it might take several weeks to get the condition to calm down.
