A Jefferson City man is facing charges after investigators say he broke into the Lincoln University President’s Residence and stayed there for days.
30-year-old Lamont Batts is charged with first-degree burglary. Court documents say security cameras captured him opening secure gates and entering the residence Saturday.
Authorities say Batts was discovered Monday inside a main bedroom. He allegedly admitted to staying at the home for about two days, eating food and drinking alcohol inside.
Investigators also say Batts told them he hears voices and believed he was told to go there.
He’s now being held in the Cole County Jail without bond.
