IN WOMEN’S COLLEGE GOLF
No. 31 Mizzou women’s golf carded a 6-over 290 to hold a tie for sixth place following round one of the NCAA Regional Championships on Monday.
Senior Jade Zamora led Mizzou with a 2-under par 69. Zamora had an impressive start to her round with an eagle and two birdies on the front nine and is tied for fifth headed into the second round.
The top five teams from the three-round tournament will advance.
IN COLLEGE BASEBALL
Mizzou baseball freshman Blaize Ward was named Southeastern Conference Co-Freshman of the Week for the second time this season, the conference office announced yesterday (Monday).
The freshman from Maumelle, Arkansas, hit .462 for the week (6-for-13) to help the Tigers to a series win over Vanderbilt.
